What about price when I buy wine?
Is price important when you go to a winery? I do not know about you, but in my world price is important. And at the same time, price ought not to be an obstacle to folks for quality wines. (Remember, when you buy locally, you are making a difference on a grander scale to your community.) CONTINUED BELOW

Because our business has wineries on board, I talk to many folks about wine. One of the things people think is that “wineries are pricey.” Wineries are often small businesses, paying staff, taxes, upkeep, etc. And like all businesses, they deal with the ups and downs of the economy. And all those things affect pricing.
The importance of price when visiting a winery can vary depending on your personal preferences and the purpose of your visit. Here are a few factors to consider:
Budget: If you have a limited budget, price becomes a significant factor. You may want to prioritize wineries that offer affordable options or have tasting fees within your budget.
Wine Tasting Experience: Price can often be an indicator of the quality and exclusivity of wines offered during a tasting. Higher-priced tastings may include more premium or limited-edition wines, additional food pairings, or a more personalized experience. If you are a wine enthusiast seeking unique or top-tier wines, price may be an important consideration.
Value for Money: Price alone does not always determine the value you receive. Consider the overall experience, the ambiance, the knowledge and expertise of the staff, and the quality of the wines relative to their price. Some wineries may offer exceptional value even at a higher price point, while others may disappoint despite being inexpensive.
Wine Purchases: If you plan to buy wine during your winery visit, price becomes crucial. Assess whether the winery offers wines within your budget range and if they provide discounts or promotions for on-site purchases.
Personal Preferences: Ultimately, your personal preferences and priorities should guide your decision. If price is a significant factor for you, focus on wineries that align with your budget and offer wines within your desired price range.
Remember, the wine industry is diverse, and there are wineries catering to different audiences and budgets. It’s a good idea to research and read reviews of wineries in advance to gauge their pricing structure and determine if they meet your expectations.
I was in one of our local wineries the other day. I took my daughter there for her birthday. They have their bottle prices on a blackboard. Someone walked in and thought it was a glass price. 🙂
If price is a consideration, reach out and research.
It’s important to note that while wine can be enjoyed in moderation, excessive alcohol consumption can have negative health consequences. It’s recommended to drink wine in moderation and always drink responsibly.
One of our great sponsors is The Summit Winery and they have a great selection of wines for any occasion, and for all palates. Many wineries offer you the opportunity to taste wines and find the one that tastes best. Maybe consider a wine tour and see what’s out there.
And let us know how your wine tasting goes and what you are drinking.
