The Timeless Allure of Tacos
Tacos, with their humble origins in Mexican street food, have transcended borders to become a beloved global culinary sensation. These delectable creations are a testament to the artistry of simplicity, where a handful of fresh, flavorful ingredients combine to create a harmonious explosion of taste. From the bustling streets of Mexico City to the trendiest eateries in New York City, tacos have firmly entrenched themselves in the hearts and stomachs of food enthusiasts worldwide.
The magic of a taco lies in its versatility. At its core, it is a canvas waiting to be adorned with an array of vibrant ingredients. A warm tortilla, whether made from corn or flour, cradles the chosen fillings, providing a vessel for a symphony of flavors and textures. Whether you prefer the smoky succulence of grilled meats, the zesty freshness of salsa, or the creaminess of avocado, there’s a taco combination to suit every palate. It’s this adaptability that has allowed tacos to evolve and captivate taste buds across continents, making them a staple on tables from Mexico to Morocco and beyond.
Today, I had the opportunity to try out a new taco and burrito place in Keene, NH.
Tito’s Food Truck
For months Tito’s Taqueria has had a taco truck here in town. In talking to the owner, Tito, today, he told me that he places the truck in a community as a testing ground to see how their food is received. Their new location in Keene tells me it was a hit.
As a child, I learned to love tacos and burritos. They tend to be my “go-to” when things are busy. I have traveled all over the country over the years, personally, as well as in business and ministry. One of my friends is a Taco-holic. This was a more recent post from him. “Someone just sent me some money for tacos, a truly enlightened individual, lol!” I understand.

How were the burritos? Amazing. I think I personally need to learn the menu a little better and experiment with some different things.
The Meat Burrito comes with Cilantro-lime rice, choice of beans, meat, cheese & salsa wrapped in a 13″ tortilla. The rice options include Cilantro-Lime Rice, Brown or White Rice. Beans include Black or Refried Beans. Meats can be Grilled Chicken, Chipotle Lime Pork, Shredded Beef Barbacoa, or Green Mountain Steak. Filling options include: Cheddar Cheese, Fresh Tomato Salsa (Mild), Chipotle Sour cream, Tomatillo Salsa (Medium), Habanero Salsa (Hot), Pickled Onions or Romaine Lettuce. And if you need a vegetarian burrito, well, here it is. Roasted veggies, guac, cilantro-lime rice, choice of beans, cheese & salsa wrapped in a 13″ tortilla. And same options as the Meat.
All burritos can be purchased as bowls. Add in drinks, salads, chips & dip, and you have a complete meal.
Today, I ordered the Chipotle Lime Pork with rice, beans and salsa. My wife ordered the Grilled Chicken and Jacob ordered the Barbacoa.
Folks, we loved the food, and as I said we need to play around a bit with the options, but this was a meal worth the price. (Honestly, part of mine is in the refrigerator.)
The crew at Tito’s on Grand Opening in Keene
Tito’s has 3 locations and I imagine there are more on the way. Greenfield, MA; Brattleboro, VT, and now Keene, NH. And you can do a pick up at the window or Door Dash it.
Today, I met Tito, the owner, Chris, who oversees all the stores, and Chelsea, the store manager in Keene. All were super pleasant and wanted to make a mark in Keene. Great people.
Titos is customer-forward. Their food is great. But they want to embrace the customer. They even have an app to order with and it has a discount for first-time users.
