Maximizing the magic of your weekend

Lee at the car show in Walpole NH
As the sun peeks over the horizon, painting the sky with a vibrant tapestry of colors, a sense of boundless opportunity fills the air. Saturdays are more than just a day on the calendar; they’re an invitation to embrace life’s myriad pleasures and forge unforgettable memories. With the promise of a day unburdened by routine, the world outside beckons, offering a canvas upon which to paint your own unique adventure. Whether you’re seeking relaxation, exploration, or a blend of both, today is yours to shape into a masterpiece of moments. Step outside, let the day unfold, and let the magic begin.
I started the day with coffee out with my wife and grandson.
Following that, we headed over to the TwinState Baconfest at Frogg Brewing.
Getting out of the car, we could smell the bacon. I immediately ran into my friend, Luca, from the Greater Monadnock Collaborative, cooking up “bowls” of bacon from North Country Smokehouse. We wandered around looking for our bacon choices.
There was a great group of vendors with lots of great foods. Bacon everything!
I ended up with Char Soole in a bao bun with collard kimchi. Jacob ended up with Hogstrami on a rye waffle with sauerkraut and stone ground mustard. My wife had a bacon jam-filled twinkie (An oinky) and a bacon and three cheese grilled cheese sandwich. Everything was delicious!
We spent some time up on the patio listening to some music from the band BoomBox.

Andy’s closing sale
Someone asked me “why a bacon fest?” The obvious answer is BACON. But, I did make a list of some of my funnier answers down below.
And the weather was beautiful.
Thanks to Frogg Brewing for opening their house.
We headed out after a few hours of music, food, and drink, and I stopped to see my friends at Full Throttle Powersports to make sure I could drop my bike off for the winter in the afternoon. After verifying that, we headed up to a bittersweet event at Andy’s Cycle Shop for the closing of the shop following Bruce’s recent passing. The family scheduled a sale of all the remaining inventory.
Jacob and I loved going up to his shop in the woods and he always spent time talking to Jacob. I am sure many others saw the same.
We took a walk around, looking at the bikes and equipment for sale, saying “hi” to a few folks.
He was a great guy, and he will be missed by many.
We came back home and took some time to get the motorcycle ready for the last ride of the season. Getting a tank of gas, cover in the trunk, and the GoPro on the helmet. Jacob and I climbed aboard and even though it was raining a bit, it was a fun ride to close out the season. (The video will be on our Youtube channel this week.)
We dropped the bike off, “cried” a few tears and headed home.
Not every Saturday in our lives are fun. I get that. Some days are dedicated to chores, work, and more. This one was fun and I am grateful for having the times with friends and family.
