Reasons for interviewing Dale:
The decision to feature Dale Proulx on my podcast was driven by a dual fascination with his extensive 26-year tenure in ministry and our longstanding connection dating back to 2011 through mutual friends. I have always been intrigued by individuals who dedicate their lives to Christ-centered service, and Dale’s journey seemed particularly compelling. The opportunity to hear more about his experiences, challenges, and deep-rooted passion for Christ presented an exciting prospect for the podcast.
Our conversation was nothing short of illuminating, unveiling layers of Dale’s character and his profound commitment to ministry. From the intricate details of his professional journey to the personal insights into his spiritual walk, the interview provided a holistic view of Dale Proulx. It was more than just an exploration of his career; it was a narrative of faith, resilience, and purpose, offering listeners a glimpse into the transformative power of a life devoted to serving a higher calling.
Dale and his wife: The Proulx’s
Dale Proulx’s personal journey is deeply rooted in his unwavering Christian faith, tracing back to his devout Roman Catholic upbringing. Originally on a path to becoming a lawyer, his trajectory shifted after an eye-opening class called “Law in the Family” introduced him to the world of volunteerism. The more he engaged in volunteer work, the stronger his calling to ministry became, prompting a significant career transition.
In the years since, Dale’s commitment to his faith has only deepened, manifesting in his roles as a pastor, father, and husband. His growth is not only evident in his spiritual walk but also in the enduring bond he shares with his wife of 34 years. Together, they navigate the intricate intersections of marriage, faith, and pastoral responsibilities, continually evolving as individuals and partners in both life and ministry.
Dale: I’ve been involved with Mission E4 since 2007 when my wife and I became members at Pilgrim Covenant Church in Lunenburg, and one of the things that you know we’ll get into my sort of journey of faith and journey in ministry was it was a period when I had left full-time pastoral ministry.
Host: Yeah, they’ve certainly been an influence in my life as well.
For close to a decade, I was in some capacity in ministry with them.
And then the latter years, I was actually on staff with them.
Dale: Wow.
Host: So that was really cool.
And so it’s a funny aside, for sure, that I think sometimes, when I think of youth ministry,
I got paid to go to the movies with kids a lot of times.
Dale: There you go.
Host: So, you know, so it’s funny stuff like that or got paid to go do things like that. One weekend, we went to purgatory chasm.
Dale: Well, I can tell you from decades of experience, it’s a great blessing to get paid for your life’s work to have the privilege, you know, of doing ministry.
So, for anyone that’s considering a call to ministry at any point in your life journey,

Chris LaFreniere
From an early age, Chris LaFreniere became interested in the written word, as well as finding his voice. He was quite regularly told by teachers, both in a positive way as well as a negative way, that his style of writing was akin to the way he thought. In one encounter with a teacher, she advised him that he should go into journalism because she believed he would do well.
Chris has been writing for close to a decade now, starting off as simply a way to get his views and opinions out via a blog, which over time has morphed into a more polished style as well as a new arena. One of which some individuals have referred to as “citizen journalism.” Writing is a passion for Chris and a place where he truly believes he’s found his voice. He also presently works as a copywriter.
