Over the years, I have wanted to make the world better. For me, it often involves technology and the usage and results it can produce. I have been a user and producer on the internet since 1995. I was a tech junkie then, and I still have great admiration for a lot of the technology that is used today. My friends tell me I tend to be a first adopter (An early adopter or a lighthouse customer, is an individual or business who uses a new product, innovation, or technology before others.) and I guess I agree.
In 1996, I met a businessman who asked me how the internet worked. I told him, “I don’t know, but I think it is a good idea.” He laughed and wrote me a check for $800. I was truthful and he knew it. (At that time, we saw a million views a month on my site.) I saw that I could help make the world better.
I don’t always understand tech, but I engage with it. A few years ago, I became aware of the NFC chip. I didn’t understand it, but I thought this was pretty cool. I bought a window sticker that says “Tap Here” with my company name below it. Placing your phone in proximity would trigger it and take you to my website here at Positive News For You.
A little more than a year ago, a friend who worked with me from El Salvador told me about a company in Australia. “I think this is right up your alley,” he said. I reached out. We connected. And we decided to form a company together. Their technology included a proprietary app, which utilized NFC technology. They had made great strides in the mental health field. Parents reaching out to children were needed, as their small community had suffered suicides among young people. A parent could post a message that their child would receive. Using their phone, they would tap the bracelet and activate the NFC chip. This would open the app where messages appeared (Photos, voice clips, and videos) that would bring encouragement to the children. One-way delivery, no social media noise, just the heart of the parents bringing encouragement to the child.
Make The World Better Through Technology
I thought, “How cool is this?” I also saw the potential for its use in business. Imagine a business with a direct line to its clients, customers, subscribers, or followers. No social media noise, no spam, and no scam.
If you have been on social media for any length of time, you know that a few things can occur.
One has to do with the amount of snark and sometimes meanspirited bullying comments and responses to postings. You either develop thick skin, block or ban, or just keep scrolling. And it is hard on your followers.
The second is the amount of energy and money that it takes to reach clients and customers. Boosts, ads, and more to stay visible and reach people.
Both of these have been food for thought for us. And through conversations, both here and abroad, we came up with what we think works.
Tap The Untapped
Tap the untapped. (But you have to say it with an Aussie accent.) Those are the words of one of my partners. The ability to reach the untapped. The 70 plus percentage of people who do not “like, comment, or share” but are important to the viability of the organization, or business. They are the client or customer who believes in what you do. They just aren’t active participants most of the time.
And so, we came up with a plan. You want to reach your valuable people. This is how we got to this place.
You continue to utilize your multiple postings on your social media. But use our technology to get to ALL of your people 100% of the time. Compare that to the possible 20% to 30% you hit with social media.
(And I am not even discussing the “shutdown” of a page or group. Last year a page with over 2,000 followers was closed with no ability to get an explanation. It was mine! Only this week, Facebook bots went into “destruct mode” and closed thousands of groups. Two people I know had groups shut down! One had over 700K followers. For more on this…)

Helping Others Make The World Better
Let me share with you a story of successful usage. I mentioned that the organization began in the mental health arena. A few months ago, my grandson Jacob wanted to do something in the realm of Mental Health Awareness space. He went to look up a name. UMatter. It was “taken” and located in… Australia. About three weeks ago, my partners let me know they were working with… UMatter. They major in Suicide Awareness and Prevention.
Umatter Awareness is now on our app, as well as readying for their merchandise that includes key chains and bracelets with NFCs that take you right to their group on the app and you will find a host of supporters sharing their mental health tips.
Video is here from TikTok about UMatter.
The goal is to reach people and help them not to commit suicide. (The founder lost both her husband and child to suicide.) She wanted to make the world better.
Our partnership will help with that.
How Will You Do It?
Most nonprofit organizations have the ability to write grants to better their process and all that they do. Some of them use a grant to produce finances for things like bracelets, key chains, and water bottles. (The NFCs and QRs connect people to them.)
Businesspeople produce merchandise all the time. Using QR codes and NFCs keeps them connected to the untapped, the 70% who are often bypassed. Corporate gifts, glassware, wearables, and more can utilize these products to reach their customers and clients.
Organizations can now use the app and the connectivity for things like voting, events, important announcements and more, reaching them directly, each and every time.
At the same time, they utilize their social media feeds.
We are seeking businesses, nonprofits, and individuals who want to reach a broad audience, including their existing customers, consistently.
We are in conversation with a large business interested in getting behind a nonprofit. The keychain will direct people to the business app and will contain messages and direct people to support the nonprofit.

My grandson and I have begun work on a car site, mental health awareness support, a beer group, breast cancer support, pet support, wine group, and vets support. As merchandise is produced with NFC and QR codes, 20% of sales will go to support organizations in their respective fields.
