Happy Tuesday!

Today is Put a Pillow on Your Fridge Day

#PutAPillowOnYourFridgeDay

In the early 1900s, people would put pieces of cloth or linen in their larders, with hopes that this would bring good fortune and prosperity, in the form of a plentiful amount of food, as well as fertility. The cloth was usually torn from something in their bedroom, such as a blanket or gown. Eventually, refrigerators began to replace larders. The introduction in 1927 of General Electric’s “Monitor-Top” refrigerator€”named after the USS Monitor€”was the death knell of the larder. The cloth tradition was lost as well until a new take on it came with the creation of Put a Pillow on Your Fridge Day years later.

TO DO!

Celebrate the day by putting your pillow on top of your refrigerator for the day. Hopefully, this act will help bring you good fortune and prosperity! Take pictures of your pillow on top of your refrigerator, and share them on social media. UYou can post on our wall here!
