My mom was an educator. I think education is important. One of the reasons I began our PN4U, INC nonprofit was to bring education to children. Over the last few months, our PN4U team has been working on an education process to bring positivity to the classroom.
One of the areas I have felt important has been getting children involved in current events. Too often it is hard because the news is frequently negative, biased and doesn’t promote communities and people. Positive News For You offers an alternative to the news that clogs our newsfeeds with negativity.
I had an idea last week about what might help our young people. I spent some time last week putting some thinking together. I talked to some of our team. I began to put it together.
I thought that I wanted to see children:
- Read the news and learn more about what is going on in our country.
- Learn positivity from people and communities
- Develop critical thinking skills
- Gain a perspective and perhaps discuss with family, friends, and educators.
- Take some of these ideas and implement them.
How would this happen?
We would put up a quiz. Each time the child would read an article from our site. Then answer a few questions. Each time the child would complete a quiz they would receive points towards a contest that would provide them with merchandise from our store.
I would like to try the system to see if it would work well by placing a quiz in Survey Monkey. You can click this link and do our trial quiz. The article will take approximately 5 minutes to read and the quiz will take about 2 minutes.
