So today I stayed local and decided to try Jen’s Fish Market on West Street in Keene. First off when I walked in it smelled like all the good seafood places on the seacoast and I let the owner know that I appreciated it. The deli case was full of amazing fish and they now also offer soft shell crab and lobster which is why I ended up at Jen’s in the first place. I had heard good things about their lobster roll and let me tell you,that along side some of the best cole slaw I have ever tasted it was a very good experience. They didn’t have any seating but I was so excited to eat it that I literally ate it all on the hood of my truck. {{more}}

The owner(who I presume is named Jen) was very pleasant and you could tell she was in her element. Her knowledge and passion for what she is doing shone through.

Now onto the review.

  • Atmosphere: It smelled like a good seacoast seafood place does! Need I say more?
  • Price: Very reasonable given the size of the roll
  • Food: The Lobster was no nonsense meaning just lobster and mayo and a little salt and pepper. And the cole slaw was seriously some of the best cole slaw I have ever tasted.
  • Overall: I’m gonna just cut to the chase here. If you want a really good lobster fix before 11 am (which I totally do now and again!) you should absolutely visit here. A little seating would be nice but I’m giving them a pass because everything else was simply on point!
