School is starting and lots of things are needing to be done. For many families, haircuts are a luxury.
“Who doesn’t like to look good on the first day of school?”
And that is where one of the event organizers, The Barbery’s Owner-Barber Shalem Bencivenga, will be for year 4 of free haircuts for school children.
The event will occur on Sunday, August 25th, at 10 AM at the Keene Rec Center at 312 Washington Street in Keene. (Last year Shalem was there until after 8 PM. He personally did over 35 cuts. The unofficial total for the day was 150 cuts.) {{more}}
Who is welcome? It is available for any school age children. K-12 (Absolutely free, no tips allowed. Girls, Boys, all hairstyles, all hair types welcome.)

Send me (Shalem) a text message 603 499-6666 or comment if you would like to volunteer. We will need help with set up, clean up, water table, games and any other fun stuff we can add to the event. Please comment and share this event. I’ll have a schedule/sign up for any barbers or stylists – must have a valid NH license (hair).
Please tag any stylist or barber you know who might volunteer some time to this event. It’s always great fun every year.
There will be a DJ on site and I would expect some great things!
