So just the other day I ventured into Country Life which by the way is a great vegan restaurant in the heart of downtown Keene New Hampshire. I had a great all you can eat meal for a very reasonable price.
The owner Peggy Schaffler is literally one of the sweetest people I know. Towards the end of my meal I was talking to her and found out that the restaurant was in danger of being shut down at the end of the year due to being in need of a fire suppression system and AC for the whole building. Both were severely outdated. In any case both of us share a faith in God and I told her I would pray and put it out on social media. There was no way I was going to let this local gem get plucked out of our community. Also, I noted that Peggy was very confident that the money would come.{{more}}
I would also like to point out that Luca Paris being the good dude that he is reached out to me to tell her to contact him so she could be on his radio show and help get the word out about her dilemma.
This is where the story really gets interesting!
I found out about 10 days after that initial encounter with Peggy, that one amazing donor cut a check for both the AC AND the Fire Suppression System! Being in the industry I know that the dollar amount on that check was no small amount. In the end, Peggy will still be going onto Luca’s show (WKBK Radio-Thursday mornings.) but with a testimony rather a dilemma to share. No doubt she will give the credit to God over the air which I think is great! In any event it is also a testament to what a great community Keene New Hampshire is!
