Do you love storytelling? Rick loves writing, drawing comics, and filmmaking. He is originally from the Albany, NY area, and is a 1986 graduate of the Joe Kubert School, specializing in narrative art. Rick started working for Dragonlady Press creating production artwork for comic strip collections by Alex Toth, Milton Caniff, and Roy Crane and went on to do cover art recreation for the Dark Knight Archives at DC Comics. After meeting Kevin Eastman and showing a portfolio at a comic con, Rick wrote and drew a story for TMNT: Turtle Soup #1 (Mirage Studios) and a double-size issue for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #44 (Mirage Studios). He lists other Turtle work as TMNT: Odyssey, The Lesson and the upcoming TMNT: The Shredder, The Promise.
A 2016 collaboration with acclaimed cartoonist and brother Doug Arthur produced the full-color, science-fiction graphic novel, We All Travel Time (Dougside Syndicate Press). Rick taught a for-credit class at the college level for five years at New Mexico Tech called Comic Drawing. His film work includes reading scripts, postproduction on Cowboy Creed (Runic Films) and on Hashtag (Runic Films, Ben Alpi, writer/director). Rick has started his own media imprint, Billion Hero Studios which has a blog (Billion Hero Studios Blog) and is hard at work on a new graphic novel called The Spider and The Mountain as well as collaborating on a prose YA novel.
Rick wants you to enjoy reading/viewing his work as much as he does creating it!
