Up early and excited that my daughter and 3 grandchildren are joining us! Very excited that between all the walking and a very comfortable bed, I feel great!

My youngest grandson begins kindergarten today! Wow!

I took my obligatory walk about the campground. (I never mentioned this other than it is “big” but it is 178 acres big.) Met friendly people all along the way. It is a beautiful, sunny day in the mountains of the Adirondacks.
Cruising the lakeWe are getting ready to head down to the Lake and begin car show fever.

Tina and I got there, and let me just say, the weather was perfect. Sunny and blue. Cars pulling in all around us. We walked along the lake, checking out cars, boats and people. We wandered around the village, looking in stores, seeing the cars for sale, and just enjoying our vacation.
Oops! When I was a child, our parents would come to the Adirondacks, get us settled and then we would have some planned trips to various places. Ausable Chasm, Stone Bridge Caves, Frontier Town and Storytown to name a few. Some of the ones we visited are gone now. But it is the reminder that I want to give my children and grandchildren, the outdoors and the occasional visit to some place a little different.
The show began at noon time and we went up and got our passes for the show. $15 for 4 days. Great price. Kudos to the Adirondack Nationals for putting this together again! Cars were pulling into place all the time we wandered. (And I took tons of pics.) People were gracious and it reminded me of why I return year after year.
Blue is my colorAfter a few hours we headed back to the vehicle. We had decided to head back to the campground and await my daughter’s entry. (It also gave me the opportunity for a little lunch on the porch and a quick nap. )
My daughter arrived at about 3. I could see one sleeping child, a “I am pretty tired” child and one that just wanted to get settled.
(When she arrived, I realized that I needed to take care of something and once again the campground went over and above to accommodate me. To be revealed at a later date. I assure you, the story is humorous.)
The show has some of the best views of the lakeAll their stuff came in the cabin and I took the grandchildren for a walk around the campground. It is interesting to me to see kids that have grown up with technology in their hands will see a river and just want to sit down and admire it. My granddaughter (16) was out back checking out the frogs and such. Nature is the room that reveals goodness and has the ability to change people.
Outdoors at its finest!
I took the children to the nearby village of Warrensburg and I was encouraged that it was a little trip that they enjoyed.
We ultimately made the decision to let the kids recover from the week and just sit out on the deck, eat dinner and call it a day. I think everyone was in bed and asleep by 10. (My 18-year-old grandson was asleep at 8.
Another super day of vacation.
Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!!!
