Adopt A Caregiver Updates And Amazing People

Luca Paris delivering to one of the Adopt A Caregiver recipients

I love where I live. It is not the geography (Though that is cool.) but the people of the community. People who go out of the way to make things better. And many of these folks are business people in the community of Keene.

People making a difference. Everyone across the nation has had to make changes. And everyone is essential. Each day I share stories of folks who are stepping up.

In our small community, I have seen many new faces making a difference here.

Last month we began a program to provide meals to people and organizations that are on the “front line” of battling the disease.

This past week, we saw a couple of great organizations receive food, in part, through our Adopt A Caregiver program. (I say in part because each one of these was sizable deliveries, and others stepped up and in, to assure the deliveries to all.)

I would like to thank the food providers here and share some of their thoughts.

A few weeks ago I received this note from Denise at CC&D’s

Currently we are accepting donations that we will match and provide meals for deserving local crews serving our community. We are working with Joy’s Network (My brother who recently finished chemo and radiation was a recipient of one of these amazing meals.) to provide meals to their clients and families dealing with cancer. CC&D’s looks forward to this partnership with PN4U to do more for our community.

This past weekend she posted this on Facebook.

Happy bellies, happy people and big, big THANK YOU! On Friday through a generous donation from Pat Burger and Bruce Norlund given to Positive News For You (PN4U) for their Adopt A Caregiver program AND which CC&D’s Kitchen Market and our customers matched, we fed the hero essential workers at Home Healthcare, Hospice & Community Services – HCS lunch. Do GOOD, Be GOOD, Feel GOOD ❤️

Luca from Luca’s Mediterranean Cafe was out there, as well, delivering to one of PN4U’s Adopt A Caregiver recipients.

Hey this happened today

Thanks to donors from across Keene and the Adopt a Caregiver Program from Positive News For You.

But it is because of the incredible ~ Amazing ~ caring and wonderful people of Keene that programs like this work.

If you want to learn more about the Adopt a Caregiver Program, contact Lee Johndrow and Positive News For You.

There is more to come. This community is amazing. My hope and my heart are that it is kindled across this great country of ours. (Each day, I post stories of ordinary people doing amazing things to make their neighborhoods, their towns and cities, better today than they were yesterday.)

Want to know more?
How do you give?
You can do one of the following.

  • Paypal-You can make a tax-exempt donation (You may also add money to fund PN4UINC)
(Please place a note, that says “Caregiver”. )
  • Send us a check. PN4UINC, 50 Woodburn Street #25, Keene, NH 03431
  • Square-You may use Square, if you prefer.
(Please place a note, that says “Caregiver”. )

PN4UINC will convey the full amount dedicated and cover ALL fees related. (You are welcome to give “extra” to help our organization.)

Please let us know if this is “ANONYMOUS” otherwise your name will be given as the donor to caregiver(s).

How this works…

For every $100 received we have restaurants on board who will receive the $100. They will correspond with the caregiver group. (Please note-You will select that, ie. Hospital with gifts of $100 or more. We can not do this with smaller amounts. You can make suggestions and we will do our best to honor them where we can with smaller amounts.) The food provider will determine the time, etc.. We will deliver this money to the restaurant. And the food provider will deliver to the caregiver.

The restaurants/food providers will be in the rotation. When a rotation is completed, it will start all over. (With each $100 we will reach out to the next restaurant. One person does NOT have to donate $100. And if, for example, we receive a donation of $200, it will go the next 2 restaurants/food providers.)

Current Restaurants and Food Providers

(Are you a restaurant or food provider, that would like to be involved. Reach out to us! Are you a retailer, etc., that would like to add something to these donations? Reach out to us!)
Each Restaurant or Food Provider will get a write-up in Positive News For You, mentions on our Facebook pages for both Keene and Positive News For You.

What do donors receive?

I am pretty certain that people are giving with no expectation of getting something in return. But I want to “pay it forward” a bit, for your purposeful act of kindness. I will send you an email.

How do you help?

That’s it for now. We appreciate your help, your kindness, and your desire to see our community bettered.

You can also give to help PN4UINC to promote positivity in communities.
