Cards!
There is something personal about receiving a card in the mail. Only yesterday, I was looking at actual cards (Not the digital kind.) that I had received for our anniversary, birthday, Father’s Day and assorted cards folks have sent me in the last year. {{more}}
Some of the cards are handmade, while others have pictures and drawings. Each one of them has a special meaning to me. As we draw into the Christmas season, you will find pantry door, covered with cards from friends and family.
Last year, shortly after I began Positive News For You, I saw a child who had a terminal illness. All he wanted was Halloween cards. Hundreds and hundreds of people responded. Since that time, I have seen this scenario play out. Christmas, birthdays, “end of life” and more.
My personal love for cards and what I have seen these do for others, brings me to this thought process.
I would like to write about a child, who might be dealing with cancer, or perhaps a terminal disease. I would like to know that getting cards would be important to these children. (There are plenty of organizations, like Make-A-Wish out there for other things and I am not looking to recreate that.)
I would like to publish an article and give people the opportunity to send them cards.
If you know of someone, let me know or have them contact me.
Thanks!
