Why interview Elizabeth of “Simply You Photography:
Liz Larson, Simply You Photography
The decision to interview Elizabeth, affectionately known as “Grandma Liz” by my kids, stems from a unique and mutually beneficial opportunity. As their beloved grandmother and an aspiring family and children photographer, Liz exudes warmth, politeness, and a genuine passion for her craft. Her budding business is fueled by great ideals, making our conversation an opportunity to showcase her talent and support her journey in the photography world. This collaboration becomes a win-win scenario, as featuring her on my channels helps increase visibility for her budding venture while I, in turn, gain valuable and engaging content. It’s a delightful partnership that highlights the power of collaboration in both personal and professional spheres.

Excerpts from the episode:
Host: “Today, our guest, fondly known as Liz, is an insightful guest who loves the cold and the fall foliage.
She wears many hats and does them well.
She’s the first family and children photographer we’ve had on the show.
So that’s just as exciting as our conversation today.”
Host: “Embracing the Fall Aesthetic:
Maine’s fall colors are known for their vibrancy.
How do you incorporate seasonal beauty into your photography?
And what do you love most about capturing moments during this time?
Liz: I mean, I know there’s a lot to love about it. Fall time is my absolute favorite period. It gets this time of the year, and I’m a different person. I don’t like the summertime at all.
It’s too hot, cranky.
I’d much rather be cold.
Liz: It’s my absolute favorite time here in the photography world.
We live for several things—one of those things being fall foliage.
You throw in a golden hour with some fall colors; we’ll climb just about anything for that perfect shot. The colors really pop. Everything just seems to go smoother.
Nine times out of ten, family holidays are right around the corner.
It’s just how cool is it that you get to be a part of that memory with each family for that shoot for their whole entire life.“

Chris LaFreniere
From an early age, Chris LaFreniere became interested in the written word, as well as finding his voice. He was quite regularly told by teachers, both in a positive way as well as a negative way, that his style of writing was akin to the way he thought. In one encounter with a teacher, she advised him that he should go into journalism because she believed he would do well.
Chris has been writing for close to a decade now, starting off as simply a way to get his views and opinions out via a blog, which over time has morphed into a more polished style as well as a new arena. One of which some individuals have referred to as “citizen journalism.” Writing is a passion for Chris and a place where he truly believes he’s found his voice. He also presently works as a copywriter.
