Reasoning for interviewing Jason George of  “Narrowtrail ministries and “The Griz podcast.”The decision to invite Jason George to the podcast was not just about a shared history from the summer of 2015 at the “Monadnock Bible Conference”; it was about recognizing a voice that resonated deeply over the years. Back then, amidst the unique experience of being one of the few individuals over the age of 25 at a Christian summer camp, Jason stood out as a speaker who brought authenticity and depth to his discussions. Fast forward to the present, and Jason’s podcast has maintained that same authenticity, offering genuine conversations even in the face of challenging topics.

Having loosely followed Jason’s podcast journey, it became evident that his ability to “keep it real” aligned with the ethos of our own platform. The decision to bring him on was fueled by a desire to delve into raw, unadulterated truths about what it means to be a solid man of God. Jason’s perspectives on spirituality, manhood, and the intricate layers of life were something I believed our audience of Godly men, husbands, and fathers would greatly benefit from. It was more than just a spiritual conversation; it was an exploration of the multifaceted dimensions of life, acknowledging that being a man of God encompasses more than the confines of a pew. Our scheduling discussions were succinct, reflecting a shared commitment to delivering content that goes beyond the expected, and I was confident Jason could bring that depth to our audience.

Jason: That’s a good question. When it comes to selecting topics for my podcast, it varies.Oftentimes, When I choose to talk about what I choose to talk about that’ll come from, what I’m currently working through in my own life or with the guys that I work with through one-on-one coaching, and I also lead some small groups for guys who are in recovery trying to work through different issues usually addiction issues so that’s where a lot of the ideas come from either something I’m working through in my own life or studying.Jason: or something that the guys are dealing with, I’ll come across something, and I’m like, that’ll really that would be good. I knew that they would benefit from that; sometimes, they’ve asked me to talk about a certain topic; sometimes, I’m studying a passage of scripture, and I just like to share what I’m learning from that, and then sometimes, I look at current events in the world, and I know it’s on the minds of a lot of guys and I begin to study it and prepare content for that.Host: In the reviews, there’s a recurring theme of your podcast addressing real and raw topics with biblical truth. Could you share an example of a specific episode where you brought a challenging issue into the light and provided practical tools for your audience?

Jason: Yeah, many of the issues I deal with are challenging issues. There’s not just one.I often speak on sexual temptation, pornography, and addiction because the majority of Christian men struggle with that.I’ve spoken on male depression.I’ve spoken on my failures as a husband, as a father.I’ve spoken on my battle with Lyme disease and how I deal with pain and suffering.

Chris LaFreniere

Chris LaFreniere

From an early age, Chris LaFreniere became interested in the written word, as well as finding his voice. He was quite regularly told by teachers, both in a positive way as well as a negative way, that his style of writing was akin to the way he thought. In one encounter with a teacher, she advised him that he should go into journalism because she believed he would do well.

Chris has been writing for close to a decade now, starting off as simply a way to get his views and opinions out via a blog, which over time has morphed into a more polished style as well as a new arena. One of which some individuals have referred to as “citizen journalism.” Writing is a passion for Chris and a place where he truly believes he’s found his voice. He also presently works as a copywriter.
