Mike: When he asked me if I wanted to believe and give my life over to Christ, it was an immediate, yes, I want to do this. A sad thing about some of this is that I remember being on fire for God at that time.
I mean, whatever the church had to do,
I wanted to be a part of it, you know.
We had Sunday morning, Sunday night, Wednesday night.
I told the pastor that if these doors are unlocked, I’m here, you know.
Host: Yeah.
Mike and Dakota: Enjoying the warm weather.
You know, the new believers, you’re always on fire for God and this and that.
Don’t worry.
It’ll go away.
I remember thinking that and still thinking now, I don’t want it to go away.
I didn’t want to lose that fire.
And I think one of the biggest things wrong with the church is that we don’t take advantage of that fire and use it to keep everybody else kindled and burning.
Mike: I can remember looking back now at some of the times when I was at the Church of the Redeemed; I was heavily legalistic.
I get angry about a lot of things, and I catch myself more now than then.

Chris LaFreniere
From an early age, Chris LaFreniere became interested in the written word, as well as finding his voice. He was quite regularly told by teachers, both in a positive way as well as a negative way, that his style of writing was akin to the way he thought. In one encounter with a teacher, she advised him that he should go into journalism because she believed he would do well.
Chris has been writing for close to a decade now, starting off as simply a way to get his views and opinions out via a blog, which over time has morphed into a more polished style as well as a new arena. One of which some individuals have referred to as “citizen journalism.” Writing is a passion for Chris and a place where he truly believes he’s found his voice. He also presently works as a copywriter.
