“Let’s work together.”
That is what collaboration is. Working together.
More than ever before, the need to collaborate or partner with other businesses, is on the rise. Much of this is due to COVID and the related decisions that have been made. And while it may vary from state to state, the fact is that when one part of our country is challenged (Think hurricanes or fires, for instance.) it affects others.
I know there is a synergy that comes about when people learn to partner and collaborate. The thinking comes from the idea that there are many things I might be good at, but why would I want to reinvent the “wheel” if there is someone else who is good at it. We already do this in a small way, for instance when we buy premade food for our food business or have someone work on or repair our computers.
Peter Thiel (Think Paypal and throwing money at the beginnings of Facebook.) recently had this to say about working together. “Competition is for losers.”
What I am suggesting, I believe works out to be a “win-win” for the partnering businesses, but done properly, it ought to provide more freedom, more finances, and more flexibility.
Many years ago, I worked to develop a cooperative of sorts that worked in the arts and crafts community. (Building, creators, promoters, site creators, and more.) At another time I worked with another man to develop a business incubator. (One man had an “empty building”, we knew people looking to start businesses, and we had business people willing to coach, mentor, and provide services.)
I know these things can work. I know that the communities love to see these “partnerships” because they help everyone. And I know that with intentionality we can see things changed for the better.
Here at our Positive News For You, we are always looking for folks to collaborate with. To partner with. To work with.
It is my hope that business folks will see that value.
These are some of the places to consider partnering and collaboration.
- Advertising-But not just advertising. How about trades, gift certificate,s and discounted gift certificates?
- Sponsoring-Co-sponsoring for and with Positive News For You of positive events and promotions. How could we work together to promote your special events? Promote your business products and services?
- Cross-promote brands on social media (I will be the first to say I am not the best with social media, but I would be willing to learn and participate with other businesses.)
- Collaborate with influencers-Each of has a sphere of influence. How can we work together?
- Guest Posting-I have always encouraged creators (Writers, podcasters, videographers and photographers.) to be here. Also, for businesses to become experts in their fields.
- Podcasting-What could we co-create?
- Interviews-This would be a great business area.
- Networking events-I think this speaks for itself.
- Use people’s different personality types and work styles-There are things each of us are good at.
- Brainstorming-What can we create?
Perhaps you see yourself partnering with PN4UINC, our nonprofit that promotes positivity, positive events and education.
I know we need help with crowd funding, social media, trades, promotions. (Keep watching for monthly cooperative.)
