What is it really like to be an extra in a movie?  As they say, it’s not very glamorous and there is a lot of waiting and waiting.

Waiting we did in Kansas during the filming of Sod & Stubble. The script was written by Ken Spurgeon, based upon the book written originally by John Ise.

Since it is a local book written about the area of Downs in Osborne County Kansas, There are still a lot of relatives in the area and far away. A few of the Ise ancestors were extras in the movie. But not all the extras got their face in the movie.

I was lucky enough to be seen in the funeral procession of Henry Ise. That scene was filmed in a morning, which was not very hot, but the auction scene at the newly constructed house was 100 or over.

I have been lucky enough to meet just about all of the cast, which were in Downs and Osborne, Kansas and events for the movie Home on the Range. That movie I helped write and was also directed by Ken Spurgeon.

Details are still being worked out for the release of the movie other than a local town showing.
