Positive news. It’s what we all want to see. Well, except those that make money on fear, death and crime. (Oh yes. There is money to be made.)
Th world is more and more reliant on medications for anxiety and depression. Who wouldn’t be with the constant barrage of news of destruction, fear mongering and what most of us would call, evil.
This morning my daughter sent me a note about all the schools in the town where she lived, being closed because of a threat.
This was the news (Valley News)… {{more}}
In a Facebook post published late Wednesday night, Springfield School District Superintendent Zach McLaughlin announced that the district had been alerted on Wednesday afternoon to a “new threat” made against the high school and was working with police in the time since to “assess the level of risk.”
“We have been unable to complete that risk assessment to our satisfaction,” McLaughlin said in the Facebook post. “Therefore, out of an abundance of caution, schools … will be closed tomorrow.”
It’s unclear if schools will be open Friday.
As of 5:30 tonight there is no word, though they may be closed because of the incoming snow storm.
Only last week a middle schooler pulled a knife and held it against another child’s neck, pressing them against the locker so they could not move. (same school.)
“Why are you publishing this?”
Because it is time for all people to begin to invest in their communities. What can you invest? Your time, talent and treasure.
Maybe you run for office, maybe you mentor a child. Maybe you help others help themselves. But you do something. And if you are already helping, I tip my hat to you. Let’s get others involved.
With drugs, shootings, fires and more, we have our work cut out. But, if each of us begins to do what we can where we live, we can begin to turn back the tide.
- Our nonprofit, PN4UINC is working hard to get behind positive events. What is yours? What is going on in your community?
- PN4UINC is preparing positivity “education” to get into schools. To give children a foundational piece to change things in their school.
- PN4UINC is providing “comfort bears” for children going through traumatic times. Illness, loss, and accidents.
If you see a way, we can help you get something done in your community, reach out to me.

We can’t fix everything, but we can do positive things in our communities. We can get involved. We can stay involved. We can do what is needed.
Let’s change the world, one community at a time.
“It wasn’t my goal to change the world. It was my goal to change an individual life, to help one person, and then another person, and then another person. You change the world by changing individual lives. We all have people who are in our story, people who did something that changed our lives immensely. The question I like to ask is not who is in your story, but whose story are you in?” What difference are you making in other people’s lives?”
