Lemonade Stands Helping Others-Thank The Children!

Positive news
Positive news

When I was a youngster, some nearly 60 years ago, I often looked for opportunities to make money. Mowing lawns, shoveling driveways, helping neighbors and more. And like so many other kids, I took on the “lemonade stand” thinking. Sometimes it was lemonade, other times it was fruits and vegetables from the garden, or items made for Christmas.

I love business and I certainly love reading stories about young entrepreneurs and have included them in articles here at Positive News For You.

One of the threads at this time of year is lemonade. (And many jurisdictions were ticketing these budding business people and Country Time stepped in to pay permits, etc..) Making money. But over the last year more and more of these children have been doing lemonade stands to help out others.

Last night, I saw yet another. This time it was eleven-year-old Antonio is selling lemonade so his family can find a place to live while his mother, Missy McKenney, goes through cancer treatment.

York police detective Jamie Robie started a Go Fund Me page, and York Community Services Association is working to make sure aunt Monique Lycette has sufficient food for her own family as well as her sister’s.

Those are the recent ones and only lemonade stands. As you read through our pages, you will find hundreds of stories like this. Children helping the homeless, raising awareness of illness and needs, or just doing great things for other people.

Let’s undergird these young entrepreneurs in their businesses and their philanthropy. Can’t find one? Maybe encourage youngsters in the pursuit of change for the better!
