How we long for the “good old days” when we were “dropping Johnny” off at school or waving goodbye in the morning, to little Sally, as she climbed on the bus.
Not so anymore.
Many parents, in the twinkling of an eye, just became, parents, seeing their students learn at home. (I think homeschooling was an option, this current trend, not so much.) While some, were prepared and schools had the preparations to move to this model, many did not. Some had internet, while others did not. Some had computers, others did not. (I do know some of this as a grandparent and helping others with things like lunches, rides, etc. I am also fortunate to live in a state leading the way.)
And here we are.
My focus at Positive News For You is to continue to highlight the positive and let others deal with the rest.
People need a respite.
There are great people out there along with wonderful businesses who are collaborating. Organizations coming together for the sake of their communities. And people. Like you and me, who are helping others. (Last night there were bells ringing in our neighborhood as people came “together”.
I think people want to know there is “life after their front door”. That is why we do what we do here at Positive News For You.
One of the things I wanted to do was to provide an outlet for young people. To help them develop positive attitudes, to get them involved in positive news stories and offer them the opportunity to show others their work at promoting positivity. (It was one of the reasons we started our nonprofit, PN4UINC, to provide education and promote positivity in school. Feel free to ask about that.)
In the past, we have put some time into this, but with circumstances, the way they are currently, I want to reboot the program.
Many students are being asked to journal and such, and I think this would be a great time to get this going.
Originally, I wanted to develop a game with this and that may be on the table. I have worked with some teachers who gave me input along the way. (“Overall it’s a great idea and I hope it makes a huge classroom impact!” was what one teacher had to say. If you would be interested in helping to get a game going to help students see positive news, let me know.)
I am looking to promote positivity. If you and your children have photos, videos, podcasts, articles and such, we will make our site available to promote these.
I look forward to hearing from you.
I have lots of ideas and have provided links along the way here.
- Possible topics and thoughts.
- How you can help.
- Businesses, maybe you want to part of this and we want to help you, as well.
- If you have a skill set that you would like to provide to this, please let me know.
