Today I landed at Shibley’s at the Pier in Alton Bay. The dining room and deck provide views of Lake Winnipesaukee that are simply majestic. The atmosphere was very welcoming and the food was simply fantastic! I exhibited some serious self control and snapped pictures of all the food today.

My appetizer consisted of 4 bacon wrapped scallops with bacon aioli (Which I saved for the spinach salad and for my main entree. They were gone shortly after the picture was taken! I slowed down a bit on the spinach salad even though it was every bit as good!
For my entree I had a very well constructed Lobster Roll on a really nice bun and I’d say over a pound of lobster! In my culinary adventures I now feel like I need to add best lobster roll to my list.
Lastly I had Xango Cheese Cake for dessert. The menu describes it as a smooth NY style cheese cake wrapped in a light sweet pastry with raspberries and rolled in cinnamon sugar and topped with caramel. Absolute heaven!
Now that I got all the important stuff out of the way let’s talk about the particulars.
Atmosphere: Excellent. Being on the water has a great feel to it whilst eating excellent food
Service: Excellent. Prompt and polite service all the way through and even some light conversation about food in general.
Price: Good. A bit more than I would normally like to spend but the food was fantastic so I’m not going to complain.
Overall Review: Great place to indulge oneself whether alone or with friends. Has enough charm to be a good place for a dinner date further on in a relationship. I will undoubtedly file this visit to Shibley’s on the Pier as a place to revisit in the near future!
