The Alumni Weekend in Lebanon Kansas by Sharon Black

The alumni weekend in Lebanon Kansas was scheduled to have all outdoor events and the weather was perfect. During the day at the former historic high school, the Kanza House Library & Museum, was open from 10 AM to 5 PM for former graduates to come and look at alumni pictures and Lebanon history. {{more}}

On one display case was a book about Emmett Kelly the clown who was born in Kansas. One patron said he had seen him perform in Wichita.

The big hit of the day was the alumni pictures from the very first high school in Lebanon in the late 1800s up to when they closed in the 1980s.

Some patrons reminisced with former classmates.

The other big hit was the stuffed great Dane dog named Don that belonged to a person in Lebanon many years ago and he let children ride him and the dog went down in the back and had to be put down. Now Don is stuffed and up on a high shelf in the Kanza House.
