This morning I did my normal Monday routine. It includes bookkeeping, banking, the gym and occasionally shopping. Today, I took my time I call “planned spontaneity” and went to a few stores for groceries
The first store I went to had turkeys on sale for 57¢ a pound. With a limit of two, I grabbed a couple. The next store had Butterball turkeys for 87¢ a pound. Yeah, why not?
First, I love turkey and I love everything connected to it. Add in the holidays and family, and I know where a lot of it is going. BUT I also have a few things we do during the holiday season. We do a lot for families who do not have. We also prepare a weekly meal for 80 people each week at the homeless shelter in town. Now that happens through our church fellowship. Each week, you can see sandwiches, soups and stews, as well as pasta dishes and dessert headed over there from the folks in the fellowship. {{more]]
Benevolence, helping others. We make it about a season and admittedly, it is sometimes a more difficult time, especially because of the children. Each day, I scan lots of websites, looking for the stories that talk about breakthroughs in education, science and technology, as well as stories of helping others and benevolence.
Entering into this season of thankfulness, gift giving and joy, it is our heart to broadcast not only the news of kindness and betterment, but to play an active part in the process. Admittedly, I began Positive News For You, as a response to the negativity of election cycles and news sites. But as I invested more and more time and money, I began to see that people really wanted to something to be different. News that would not cause them to feel slimed in the midst of everything.
A lot of times, the news is constantly wearing and then throw in social media and I have to check out.
Some months after beginning Positive News For You, I felt that I was to start a nonprofit, PN4UINC, to promote positive events, embrace those interested in bringing positive news forward and developing programs to provide positive education.
As we enter into the holiday season I felt that we needed to let folks know about what we are doing and how they can participate. You will find opportunities below to help you participate in what we are doing.
