Pandemonium Day

#Pandemonium Day

There is chaos and disorder everywhere, and you can’t control it. Crazy, unorganized, and unexpected things are happening, and they all seem to be happening at the same time. Does this sound like pandemonium to you? That’s okay, today is Pandemonium Day. It’s a day to embrace and even celebrate the pandemonium that often seems to surround us. It is a day for looking at this pandemonium in a new way. As it can come along at any time, it is a day to accept that it exists.

The word “pandemonium” first appeared in 1667, in John Milton’s Paradise Lost. It was spelled as “Pandaemonium” and was the name for the capital of Hell. The word comes from two Greek words: “pan,” which means “all,” and “daimonion,” which means “inferior gods.”

How to Observe Pandemonium Day
Embrace and celebrate the chaos and disorder of life. Accept that pandemonium can come along at any time. By doing so, you’ll be better able to navigate it when it does arrive. You could make things extra crazy and disorderly on purpose today, to help inoculate you for when some chaos really does come along. On the other hand, you could spend the day taking steps to reduce that chances of pandemonium, by taking care of things that you can control. You could also spend the day reading Milton’s Paradise Lost.
