Frogg Brewing’s 4th Annual Charity Car Show
I love cars. Pretty much all cars. I don’t fit in a box when it comes to cars. And because I love cars, I love car shows. Some would say I like a lot of them! Each week of the summer, I spend time at a show, and often as many as 3 or 4 in a week.
Classic Car at Frogg Brewing
(This article is later than I wanted because I went to a week of cars the next day!)
You know the first of the 12 steps: admitting you are powerless over cars and that your life has become unmanageable! (I even started a site called “PowerlessOverCars.com” and may launch it soon, with shows, cars, and more. I just got back from vacation, and I am catching up on things.)
On Labor Day, my grandson, Jacob, and I went to the 4th Annual Hops for Hope Car Show to Benefit American Cancer Society at Frogg Brewing. We love this show and the cause it benefits.
Frogg Brewing hosts many events and helps many organizations and causes. One of the reasons we love going there is that they have weekly cruise nights over the summer, and we developed some great relationships there.
Jacob and I have loved that they are so close for a car show. They have a great property, good brews, and a heart for the community.
Boom Box Band playing at Frogg Brewing
Jacob and I arrived at about 9, though the show did not start until 10. When we arrived, there were already a lot of very cool cars on site. The Lily Pad Food Truck was getting ready and the band, Boom Box, was setting up for the show.
Jacob and I got our cameras out and went around filming all the great cars. We also talked to friends and owners.
The volunteers did a great job taking care of people, parking cars, and making people feel welcome. They had put together a free shuttle service, working with Adventure Limousine. This made much of their lot available for the handicapped and elderly.
The music from the Boom Box Band started, playing classic rock from the 80s and 90s. They were a great addition to a great show.
The voting began, and people selected their favorite cars for the show. It was a bright, sunny day, with lots of cars and lots of smiles.
Jacob and I had a great time.

Car Shows benefitting charities are a way to help!
Car shows that benefit charities are a great way for automotive enthusiasts to gather, showcase unique vehicles, and raise funds for various causes. These events usually feature a range of classic cars, exotic cars, muscle cars, and sometimes motorcycles, with proceeds going to a designated charity or multiple organizations.
Here are some common elements of charity car shows:
- Entry Fees & Donations: Participants often pay an entry fee to showcase their cars, and spectators may also be charged a fee or encouraged to donate to the cause.
- Auctions & Raffles: Many charity car shows feature auctions or raffles where unique automotive memorabilia, tools, or even vehicles are up for grabs.
- Sponsorships: Local businesses, car clubs, and larger corporations often sponsor the event to contribute to the charity and advertise their products and services.
- Awards & Prizes: The shows typically include awards for best in class, people’s choice, and other categories, which adds an element of competition and excitement.
- Community Engagement: These events often include food trucks, music, and family-friendly activities, making them a fun outing while supporting a good cause.
Some well-known charity car shows include:
- Cruisin’ for a Cure: One of the largest charity car shows in the U.S., benefiting prostate cancer research.
- Cars for Kids: This annual event raises funds for children’s hospitals or educational programs.
- Cops and Rodders: Often organized by law enforcement groups, this show supports police charities or community safety initiatives.
These shows not only raise money for important causes but also build community spirit among car lovers and the general public.
