On August 6th–14th, the League of NH Craftsmen is headed back to the Mount Sunapee Resort in Newbury, NH, for their 89th Annual Craftsmen’s Fair. The event will showcase more than 300 makers of fine crafts, each with their own unique background, process, and inspirations.
The League of New Hampshire Arts and Crafts dates back to the mid–1920s when Mrs. Mary Coolidge and A. Cooper Ballentine joined forces to promote craft in the state. By 1932, the League had been established and the first official League shop was opened in Wolfeboro. The following year, the first Craftsmen’s Fair was held, making it the oldest craft fair in the country.
Today, the League is recognized as one of the country’s foremost fine arts organizations, setting the standard for fine hand crafts — made right here — that are valued throughout the United States and around the world for their creativity, authenticity and technical expertise.
Visitors to the 89th Annual Craftsmen’s Fair will have the opportunity to watch as demonstrations and see raw materials come to life at the hands of master craftsmen. Learn more and buy tickets at nhcrafts.org/annual–craftsmens–fair. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to celebrate the artistry of New Hampshire’s finest craftsmen!
