What does a positive news newspaper talk about when they are going on a family vacation at the Adirondack Nationals Lake George, New York?
Family, fun, and food!

Lake George Truckster
My kids and grandkids would probably tell you, I am a bit like Chevy Chase going on vacation. Speaking about Chevy Chase, you definitely want to check out the Lake George Family Truckster.
For my wife and I, this has been the start of a trip to the Adirondacks with family every Labor Day. My wife finished work on Friday at 1:30, and my grandson, Jacob, got home about the same time. My wife went shopping for the week, and when she got home, we unloaded the groceries. Then, Jacob headed home for a day or so to be with friends.
Last night was a kickback night for us. This morning, we took some time to get a coffee together. Upon getting home, it was about getting the house ready for when we return. No one wants to come home and clean a house! I started loading the car for a car show that Jacob and I will be at. My car is full of merchandise to sell, while Jacob films cars. This is a benefit for veterans and is the annual car show at Frogg Brewing in Swanzey, New Hampshire.
My wife had gotten a ton of work done, and everything I needed to do for the day was done, so we decided to head over to Frogg Brewing for some beverages and food. It turned out that the band Inclover was playing. So, music, drink, food, and each other.
Our vacation is underway. Tomorrow, we will be at Abundant Grace Fellowship. Then, Jacob will return and prepare all the camera equipment for Monday’s car show.
We head out on Tuesday morning for our annual Adirondack vacation. Tina, Jacob, and I will be heading to Lake George, where we have rented a home through VRBO. A beautiful home just off the lake. 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a commercial kitchen, and a screened-in porch that has healing powers!

Lake George has been my go-to destination since I was 2 years old. Our family started in Schroon Lake, and as we got older, we began going camping on Indian Lake. I have boated or canoed many of those lakes in the region. Some of my favorites have been Blue Mountain, Abanakee, Pleasant, Sacandaga, and Saranacs, as well as numerous rivers and ponds.
In the mid-1980s, I discovered a car show nearby. I started attending the car show in Lake George some 40 years ago, before it was even held there.
We pack our car with food, clothing, and expectations! Over the years, it has included sightseeing, lake cruises, and simply spending time together.
Starting Thursday, the Adirondack Nationals car show begins at Fort William Henry. Approximately 1,600 cars will be on display at the show, and the streets will be crowded with tens of thousands of classic and amazing cars. With the Adirondack Mountains as a backdrop and Lake George reflecting its beauty, this is my happy place.
Whether I am grabbing coffee at Caffe Verro, walking the boardwalk, or sitting on Canada Street watching the cars cruise by, this is me.
Here we are. Family Vacation 2025. I’m excited for the trip on Tuesday!
