Helping Others.

Change The World.

This season has been a tough one for many people. Painful, even. So what can be done? This morning I was sitting here and thinking about what I could do to make the world better, help some people and have some fun.

Practice Random Acts of Kindness and Senseless Acts of Beauty. {{more}}

We have all seen this. About 20 years ago, I “changed it up”. I changed it to read “practice purposeful acts of kindness and sensible acts of beauty”. I reached out to my friend, Lori, who has work displayed in a Connecticut gallery and loves all things art and music.

Practice purposeful acts of kindness and sensible acts of beauty.

I shared this idea.

A piece of art. A base price would go back to the artist. (Blessing #1) Put it up for auction or purchase. Someone buys it. (Blessing #2) It goes on their wall or is gifted to another. (Blessing #3) The money is given to an organization to help those struggling in this season. (Blessing #4) Sharing the story with others… (Blessing #5)

5 areas of life changed. The world is changed.

Who is the artist?

She is my friend, Lori.

ArtistI love to create… there is something about the idea of making something out of nothing. Painting, writing, they allow me to do this. I often choose nature and landscapes as subjects because they reflect life to me. I also have been working on a black and white series of people who influence me, particularly musicians.

In this chaotic world, I like to look at an image that brings about peace, beauty, and inspiration. Typically, acrylic is my medium of choice, however, I have been branching out into acrylic pouring and other 3D art this year.

I am a lifelong Connecticut resident and have been painting since I was in elementary school, selling my first oil painting at age 13. I started off in watercolor, and quickly transitioned to oil painting as a teenager, and then acrylics as an adult. My work has been displayed at numerous art and craft fairs, and a few local art galleries in Connecticut. My goal for this year and for the future is to use the sale of my art to help others.
Who have we chosen to receive the money?

Feeding Tiny Tummies

We have chosen an organization serving in the city of Keene, New Hampshire for this auction. These folks are providing meals in our community to the “food insecure”.

The organization Feeding Tiny Tummies. (If you prefer to give directly, feel free to click on the link.) They are thankful. They are working 12 -15 hours a day serving our community (safely) through this pandemic! They provide over 10,000 meals a week.

Artwork by Lori LebelThe first piece we are going to auction off is this one.

A Black & White acrylic painting of Elvis Presley. The size is 16×20 and has a lightweight frame.

Elvis Aaron Presley (January 8, 1935 – August 16, 1977), also known simply as Elvis, was an American singer and actor. Regarded as one of the most significant cultural icons of the 20th century, he is often referred to as the “King of Rock and Roll” or simply “The King”.
