Explore Women’s Suffrage with Liz Tentarelli at Tapestry Tuesday.
On Tuesday, March 21st, the Center for the Arts in the Lake Sunapee region will be host to Liz Tentarelli’s Tapestry Tuesday event. This event will explore the long and arduous journey to women’s suffrage in the United States, from the 1848 Women’s Rights Convention in Seneca Falls to the final ratification of the 19th amendment in 1920.
Using a combination of historic photos and documents, Liz Tentarelli will be guiding attendees on the path to understanding the key players in the push for women’s voting rights, both nationally and in New Hampshire. We will discover the issues and obstacles faced by suffragists, how the war effort helped the final push for passage of the amendment, and who was left out when women eventually got the right to vote.
The Tapestry Tuesday event will be held at 5:30pm in the Tracy Memorial Library, across the street from the New London Inn. Reservations are recommended and can be made by emailing info@centerfortheartsnh.org. Don’t miss out on this unique and informative event!
