Foodie Erik Willis gets out and about, finding some new food experiences in Massachusetts.
(If you like these columns from Erik, let him know. Local and small businesses are being sought for sponsorship.)
This weekend my travels took me to Bernardston MA which is about 45 minutes outside of Keene. I was a vendor at the engine show and I had an enjoyable time there. Of course, when I am on the road I am always looking for a restaurant to cross off my bucket list. This particular weekend I was able to hit two places I have never been.
The first place I went to was The Rendevous in Turners Falls. I had a very tasty Banh Mi sandwich with potato wedges and garlic aioli. For dessert, I had a very nostalgic rhubarb crisp with ice cream that reminded me of the dessert with the same name that my mother used to make. Great food and good service at the bar.
They are located at 78 3rd Street in Turners Falls. Their hours are from 11:30-Midnight Sun-Thurs and 11:30-1 am Friday and Saturday. Definitely worth checking out. They also have occasional events and an outside tented bar and dining area that is soon to be completed.
That concludes this week’s out and about adventure. Until next time may your week be filled with good food grand adventure and great friends and abundant love!
I definitely will be out and about!
Thanks, Erik for your return. We are greatly appreciative of your work and your love for the food world. We look forward to more of your visits to area fooderies. And let Erik know if you have a fave you would like to see him at.
Erik wanted to share this poem he wrote with you.
It’s getting louder can you hear the sound
It’s loud like thunder striking the ground
In the midst of it grace does abound
There is plenty enough to go around
When you begin to hear it it will be a game changer
It will begin to shift things it is a great rearranger
It will save you from great harm and much danger
It will cause you to love more people even a stranger
Within each soul it will resonate deeper
As the path becomes more challenging yes even steeper
But each will rise to their place of being a gatekeeper
Overtaking the ways of the evil grim reaper
