Foodie Erik Willis gets out and about, and heads over to The Carousel Grill Restautant, in Fitzwilliam, NH.
This week I decided to venture out of Keene a bit further than normal and head to the Carousel Grille located in Fitzwilliam at 10 Route 12 in Fitzwilliam NH for brunch after church on Sunday. I started with three very good beverages namely water, an orange mimosa and a coffee. From there I transitioned to the main course which was Eggs Benedict with my signature side of home fries.
The food came out in a timely manner and overall it was a very enjoyable dining experience.
The atmosphere is very much what you would expect from a diner on the main drag going through a small town. Two rooms of tables and also six chairs up at the counter which is generally where I land when it is available because I enjoy talking to people and this is the best way to do so. Whether it be regulars, old duffers, or workers passing through and heading to a job. It’s all fair game in my view as it lends itself to a more enriching dining experience.
My server and the owner were very polite and helpful with the questions I had along the way.
The previous evening I had inquired on Facebook and it turns out that the owner was the one who had replied to me on Facebook Messenger and because of that we had a bit of an exchange.
For those of you who are interested the hours are 7-2 Thursday through Monday with Brunch served all day on Sundays.
Also be sure to check them out on Facebook for specials and events including special dinners.
My overall rating of The Carousel Grille was a 4 out of 5 for all of the aforementioned reasons. Be on the lookout for a review of lunch there in the near future as well as what led to the inspiration of opening it up as well as some related history and quite possibly some backstory about the chef if such a thing exists. Until the next time happy trails and may you always eat well, laugh often and be loved much.
Until next time,
Erik Willis
