Luca Paris and Videographer Gavin Key are back with some new videos of their visits to the Monadnock area restaurants.Today’s journey takes them to downtown Keene!

The Pour House, Keene, NH

 

I remember the first time I went into The Pour House in Keene. My daughter wanted to take me out for Father’s Day. And we ended up here. It was great then and has been each time. 

 

In this episode, Luca meets with Terry Atwater-Yager, who has been there for 11 years. The topic? Luca will tell you it is great food, people, and beverages. 

 

Lately, a younger crowd has been showing up. (Mid 20’s.) 

 

Right on Central Square in Keene! 

 

A big draft beer line and tap handles hanging from the ceiling! 

 

Marvin made the grilled haddock with lemon-lime butter for Luca. Light and tasty.  Followed by tacos, 3 to a plate. And then a bacon burger with pulled pork and barbecue sauce, topped with a fried egg.

Taqueria Odelay, Keene, NH

Next on the tour is a visit to Taqueria Odelay on Main Street in Keene. (Years ago, these folks were in our company at least a couple of times a month with their mouth-watering food.) 

DJ Flex meets with Luca as he tries the South American and Asian influenced food. This place has changed the food culture in Keene! 

Tacos and bowls! It has there! 

Walk up and order and delivered to your table! 

They tried Korean beef, pickled veggies, and cheese with rice! (Don’t forget the brisket!) 

 

Granita Enoteca, Keene, NH

 


Luca makes a visit to one of the “fanciest, coolest restaurants in Keene.” 

He sits down and talks about the biggest wine lists in the area with Mo Kelly. 

This is a place for great food and great service. They use local ingredients. The service works to be better than the big city. Their interior is modern, clean, and bright! 

They carry 3,500 bottles of wine. 

Luca tries Lobster risotto, saffron, rice aged for a year, along with grilled octopus, puttanesco sauce, followed up with Espresso gelato, and Affagato

Yahso, Keene, NH

 

Lucan heads checks out the island vibes of Yahso, where the night life is that of the Caribbean.  

He meets with Shamar Shan, where he does it all to bring the Jamaican to Keene. 

It makes you feel like you are on the beach. 

He brings out goat and oxtail. (I “seen” my folks cook this food!) Gail makes this place happen with 30-40 seats. 

Luca tries the braised oxtail and the taco and rice! 

The food of the islands!
