What’s New In ’22 at Positive News For You?

Change the world for the better
Change the world for the better

A new year!

I asked our church fellowship “what’s new in ‘22”?

That is a question we all ought to ask. The temptation is to hold on to what works…even when it doesn’t anymore. I am sure Aesop has something to say here…

A Stag overpowered by heat came to a spring to drink. Seeing his own shadow reflected in the water, he greatly admired the size and variety of his horns, but felt angry with himself for having such slender and weak feet. While he was thus contemplating himself, a Lion appeared at the pool and crouched to spring upon him. The Stag immediately took to flight, and exerting his utmost speed, as long as the plain was smooth and open kept himself easily at a safe distance from the Lion. But entering a wood he became entangled by his horns, and the Lion quickly came up to him and caught him. When too late, he thus reproached himself: “Woe is me! How I have deceived myself! These feet which would have saved me I despised, and I gloried in these antlers which have proved my destruction.”

What is most truly valuable is often underrated.

As we as Positive News For You and our sister organization and nonprofit, PN4UINC move into 2022, we have had to ask ourselves that question. What is new? It is easier and certainly more comfortable to embrace what we know rather than considering there may be something new on the table.

But here we are!

Here are our thoughts and current thinking.

Positive News For You

We have invested a lot of money this year in our website to be prepared for what we believe is readying to happen.

Here are 4 areas of content we want to see.

  • Writing-We hope to see more and more writers who are interested in bringing lifestyle to our pages. (What is lifestyle you ask? Lifestyle is what people encounter daily. How to shop, fix a car, participate in sports, or your latest TV program. Think on that!)
  • Podcasting-What do you like to listen to? Do you ever wish you could hear more about family, or art and music? We hope to encounter people who want to talk about their favorite topics.
  • Videography-I live in New England, but what is going on where you live? Visits to wineries or breweries? Country fairs? Your favorite hike?
  • Photography-How about folks sharing their love of landscapes, pets or cars?

Yes, we want to see more positive news stories, but sometimes just sitting in front of a picture triggers that serotonin!

We would love to see “roving reporters” and town criers!

(Businesspeople-have you ever considered writing about what you do? We are ALWAYS looking for that kind of content.)

And I personally would love to have that person or people willing to take POSI the Bear to the world.

This brings us to our nonprofit, PN4UINC.

Last week we had a great board meeting about PN4UINC and Positive News For You.

Some of the topics and thought process include:

  • The addition of board members. People who believe the world needs more positivity.
  • Folks interested in promoting positive events. (Not just hours bet where we can get behind others events.
  • The process of working with education in all forms to promote positivity among students.
  • Working to help develop folks interested in being positive in communities through video, audio, photography and writing work.
  • Helping communities become known for their positivity
  • Finding someone willing to lend their grant writing experience.
  • And someone to help us embrace Google’s 10K for Nonprofits.

Those were some of our big “bites” for 2022.

Do you see yourself in this?

Let us know!

For folks on the outside:
  • Let them know through your “likes, shares, comments and invites”.
  • Visit their places of business when you can and let them know you like what they are doing.
  • Spend money with them when you can as a tangible “like”.
  • Invite others to play. (What business(es) do you want to see playing?
  • And for all of us, let’s embrace some of the fun going on.
